The Ebac 9kW Air Source Heat Pump

The Ebac 9kW Air Source Heat Pump has been designed to replace gas and oil boilers in mid-size homes here in the UK. For a 3-to-4 bedroom property, your standard combi-boiler doesn’t always provide you with exactly what you need when the temperatures start to fall outside. Radiators rapidly heat up quickly, and we turn them off once it gets too hot; this causes thermal instability throughout our homes. It’s not long before this constant cycling leads to condensation and black mould.

Designed and built in County Durham, this heat pump provides your home with both hot water and heating, doing away with conventional boilers altogether. It keeps a continuous flow of heat running through your home, compared to the constant switching on and off you get from boilers. Working in this way can remove damp and cold spots from your home for good.

The Ebac 9kW Air Source Heat Pump also qualifies for the £7,500 government Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) grant, helping you to upgrade to a greener energy at minimal cost to yourself.

Features & Benefits: Ebac 9kW

  • 9kW Output: Designed to provide all of the heating and hot water needed for 3-4 bedroom homes, giving our customers total independence from fossil fuels.
  • Heating Balance: A continuous flow of heat through your radiators removes condensation, getting rid of black mould for good.
  • BUS Compliance: This heat pump meets the criteria that gives you full access to the £7,500 government funding.
  • Passive Defrost: Other heat pumps use the heat from your radiators to remove ice from outdoor units, the Ebac moves it using the surrounding air. This innovative feature from Ebac is currently patent-pending, and is certainly something we’ve not seen before.
  • Acoustic-Dampened Casing: Its steel housing has been designed to noise down to a soft hum at 51 dB(A). We’ve seen them first hand during our site visit, and can vouch for just how quiet they actually are.
  • Grid Automation: It works with platforms like homely to automatically run during the cheapest parts of the day.

Standards & Certifications

  • MCS Certified: Qualifying for the UK government’s £7,500 BUS grant.
  • CE & UKCA Marked: Conforms to UK and European standards.
  • R32 Refrigerant: Complies with F-Gas regulations.
